  Ok, I'll try to be brief.
  
  I'm not what people consider an average "pet owner". In fact, it kinda bothers me when people refer to my 3 "babies" (two min pins, one pit bull) as pets or dogs. I know I'm not the only one that feels that way.
  
  Anyway, I've been taking the two min pins to Oakwood for basically their entire lives. I never really got to know Dr. Mike nor did I ever have the opportunity to just talk to him man to man. Unfortunate, but that's just the way it was. I still felt I got great care for my babies.
  
  One day, I hear that there is going to be a management change. I was thinking "dangit, now I have to wonder if the next person is going to take care of my babies like I've come to expect from Oakwood". Well, fast forward to my first encounter with Dr. Simmons: the dude talked to me like a man, always made eye contact, and explained EVERYTHING to me! hahaha...I didn't understand many of the clinical words he was using, but damn if he didn't explain what every one meant (at the time)! :)
  
  All jokes aside, Dr. Simmons actually cares about my babies so much that he wanted me to understand everything that was/is going on with them. This FAR exceeded my expectations of "new management". My oldest min pin (Spike-my boy!) hasn't been in better physical shape since he was 5 years old. He's about 12 now.
  
  When Spike was diagnosed with diabetes, everyone helped me learn everything I need to know about how to manage the diabetes.
  
  The first thing that struck me about Dr. Wanous is noticing how "down to earth" he is with my babies. I'm certain that Zona (my pit bull-she's the true love of my life) has a total crush on Dr. Wanous.
  
  Everybody that has anything to do with getting my babies better, keeping them in good health, weekend boarding, or just routine checkups have been nothing but awesome. I like that everyone knows my name. I feel welcome there...and more importantly, my babies feel welcome there.
